Mr. King has over 35 years’ experience in the capital and (re)insurance markets and has held senior positions with Gallagher Capital Solutions, Quanta Capital Holdings, Chubb Financial Solutions, Swiss Re Financial Products and Gen Re Financial Products.

Dan Cathcart

Head of M&A, CEO of Atlantic Coast Life

Mr. Cathcart has devoted his career to sourcing, structuring, pricing and accounting for reinsurance transactions. He has analyzed hundreds of potential deals and completed several dozen transactions. With his deep knowledge of reinsurance economics, accounting, regulation, taxation, onshore/offshore issues and administration he brings unparalleled creativity to executing transactions.

Mr. Cathcart has most recently served as Chief Marketing Officer and prior to that, Chief Financial Officer, for Ability Insurance Company and Ability Resources Inc. From 2005 – 2007, he headed the Towers Watson North American Long Term Care (LTC) consulting practice, where he more than doubled targets for annual production increases.

Phil Rosztoczy

Chief Financial Officer

Serving as the Chief Financial Officer of A-CAP, Mr. Rosztoczy is an experienced business leader and finance executive with experience in finance, business strategy, operations, workforce transformation, M&A, accounting and analytics.

Previous to joining A-CAP he was the Chief Operating Officer of the Finance function and Head of Financial Planning & Analysis at Global Atlantic. Mr. Rosztoczy has also held various Chief Financial Officer positions at TIAA, UBS, and Morgan Stanley following a decade of experience in Public Accounting, mostly at EY’s Financial Services Consulting practice.

Rosztoczy has over 30 years of Finance experience, with a majority focus in financial services and real estate industries.

Jill Gettman

Chief Legal Officer

Jill Vinjamuri Gettman is a Managing Partner with the law firm of Gettman & Mills LLP founded in 2005. Based in Omaha, Gettman & Mills represents individuals and Fortune 500 companies in business and regulatory law, insurance coverage, and product liability defense cases throughout the U.S.. Ms. Gettman has more than 25 years of legal experience in complex commercial and general civil litigation with expertise as follows: Outside general counsel for A-CAP, an insurance holding company based in New York City. A-CAP owns multiple businesses within the insurance company vertical including primary carriers, reinsurance vehicles, an investment adviser and a marketing organization. Over a decade of work for in pharmaceutical products-liability litigation, including multiple trials in New Jersey and Florida for Roche and appellate litigation in federal and state court. Extensive knowledge of a wide variety of disciplines, including dermatology, gastroenterology, epidemiology, pharmacology, and FDA regulations. Successfully defended major pharmaceutical company in products liability lawsuit involving allegations of severe physical and emotional damages. Defense of national insurance companies in various litigation scenarios. Represents a multi-billion-dollar telecommunications company in a variety of litigation and regulatory matters.

Anthony Contessa

Co-Chief Investment Officer

Mr. Contessa is Co-Chief Investment Officer for A-CAP Management, specializing in traditional real estate investments including CMBS, RMBS, and whole loans. He has over 20 years of investment experience applying various fixed income strategies to the global securitized markets.
He was formerly a Managing Director at Swiss Re Financial Products where he held several positions including Co-Head of the Securitized Products Trading Desk. Prior to joining Swiss Re in 2001, Mr. Contessa was a Vice-President in Munich Re’s Asset Management Group. He has also held Asset Backed Finance related positions at Lehman Brothers, Deloitte & Touche and Bankers Trust.
Mr. Contessa holds a MBA in Finance from NYU and graduated from Trinity College with a BS in Economics and Computer Science

Yuan Zhou

Co-Chief Investment Officer

Mr. Zhou currently serves as the Chief Investment Officer at A-CAP Management (“A-CAP”) with a focus on CLOs, 1st lien mortgages and direct collateralized loans. Prior to joining A-CAP, Mr. Zhou was a Managing Director at Riverside Risk Advisors where he structured, negotiated and executed billions of interest rate, foreign exchange, and equity derivative trades. Previously, he was a member of the proprietary structured credit team at Swiss Re.

In addition, Mr. Zhou structured and modeled mortgage backed securities in roles at Varadero Capital, Societe Generale, C-BASS, and Capital One Financial. He holds a BA in mathematics (Summa Cum Laude) from University of Rochester and a MS in statistics from Stanford University.

Michael Saliba

Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Saliba serves as Chief Operating Officer for A-CAP and Co-Chief Compliance Officer of A-CAP Management. Mr. Saliba has over 18 years of experience in the capital and financial markets, specifically focusing on index and equity derivatives and venture capital. Mr. Saliba has degrees in Finance, Real Estate, and History from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He maintains a series 65 license.

Pankaj Mody

Chief Technology Officer

With 20+ years of financial industry experience, Pankaj is a veteran of the derivatives technology space. He has led change initiatives at buy and sell-side firms, innovating while building end-user solutions such as portfolio management platforms, analytics tools and order management systems. He brings a fresh perspective to technology within insurance asset-management at A-CAP.
Most recently Pankaj served as Global Head of Derivatives Technology at JP Morgan Asset Management. He holds a BS in Computer Science and Industrial Management and an MS in Computational Finance from Carnegie Mellon University.

Barbara O’Neill

Chief of Staff

Barbara O’Neill is a Vice-President and Controller of A-CAP.
Ms. O’Neill has previously been a founder and partner of O’Neill & Noel CPAs, LLC, Vice-President and Controller at Backer Spielvogel Bates, Inc. (1983-1992), Senior Accountant at Penn Central Corporation (1981-1983) and started her career at Deloitte in auditing (1979-1981).
She became a CPA in 1981 after completing her B.S. in Accounting at St. Francis College (Brooklyn, NY) in 1979.

Charles Sanders

President of Atlantic Coast Life

Charles Sanders is a 45 year veteran of the life insurance industry and is the President of Atlantic Coast Life. He began his employment with Atlantic Coast Life in 1997 as the Director of Training, and became the Vice President of Sales and Marketing in 1999. Prior to his employment with Atlantic Coast Life, he worked for 22 years in a variety of capacities for the Life Insurance Company of Georgia. Mr. Sanders earned his Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant designations in 1997 and 2003, respectively. He completed his LLIF designation from the LIMRA Leadership Institute in 2002. Mr. Sanders is a graduate of Charleston Southern University in Charleston, SC.

James Rothman

Head of Business Development

Mr. Rothman joined A-CAP in September 2016 and has 25 years’ experience in structured fixed income products and markets. Prior to A-CAP, Mr. Rothman worked for Petra Capital Management originating transactions in the leveraged loan/CLO sector. Before that, Mr. Rothman managed a $12BN runoff book of primarily structured finance assets for National Australia Bank. Earlier, he was a Senior Managing Director at ACA Capital and a banker in the mortgage, asset finance and securitization businesses of GE Capital, Deutsche Bank, PaineWebber and Chase Manhattan Mortgage.

Mr. Rothman holds a BS in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and a Master’s Degree in Public and Private Management from the Yale School of Management.

David Charsky

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Charsky is the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for Ability Insurance Company. In these roles he is responsible for all budgeting, regulatory and financial reporting functions. Previously he was the Vice President of Finance for a private equity based start-up (re)insurer and third-party administrator.

Before that Mr. Charsky was the director of financial reporting and taxes at a middle market insurance company. Mr. Charsky started his career with Ernst & Young, while obtaining his certified public accountant license.

Annie Elliott

Chief Risk Officer

Ms. Elliott is the Chief Risk Officer for A-CAP and responsible for risk management including operational, regulatory, underwriting, and reinsurance. Prior to joining A-CAP, Ms. Elliott spent over 12 years at the Nebraska Department of Insurance.

Ms. Elliott received BS and MBA degrees from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She is a Certified Financial Examiner and a Former Board Member of the Society of Financial Examiners.

Douglas George

Head of Life Insurance and Annuities

Mr. George is responsible for developing reinsurance, and other financial transactions for life insurance and annuity business on behalf of A-CAP. He has over 25 years’ wide ranging experience as a consulting actuary in life insurance with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, risk management and asset-liability management.

In the early 1990s, Mr. George founded Avon Consulting Group, a life actuarial consulting firm which eventually became the largest life consulting shop in New England, and the most successful domestic life start-up in the decade. He was most recently Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer at Aon Consulting, joining Aon when it acquired Avon Consulting Group.
